    • Cognac Drouet: the excellence of a 100% Grande Champagne terroir in Salles-d'Angles

Nestled in the rolling hills of the Charente region, Maison Drouet is more than just a wine estate: it's a sanctuary of authenticity dedicated to the premier cru of Cognac. From generation to generation, this family of passionate individuals crafts exceptional spirits with an unwavering philosophy: respect for the land and the transmission of ancestral know-how.

Upon entering the estate in Salles-d'Angles, just 15 minutes from the town of Cognac, visitors, whether tourists or locals, discover a living heritage where every gesture counts. Each stage of the visit, from the vineyard to the aging cellars, is a truly immersive and memorable experience.

A rare craft: total mastery from vine to still.

What truly distinguishes Domaine Drouet is its complete control of the production chain, a model that is increasingly rare in the Charente region. Patrick Drouet, the estate's emblematic figure, oversees every detail from start to finish, guaranteeing a consistent and authentic aromatic signature. The secret to the eaux-de-vie's finesse lies in the small, family-run distillery. Unlike industrial standards, the estate uses small, traditional 10-hectoliter stills. This technical choice allows for a slower extraction of the wine, producing a finer, more delicate eau-de-vie, rich in aromas.

The commitment is so profound that the family literally lives to the rhythm of distillation : a bed is always set up near the copper stills to watch over the precious nectar 24/7. It is in this unique atmosphere that Patrick's children were born. Today, two of them, Mélina and Maxence, have completed their apprenticeships there and are following in their father's footsteps with the same passion, thus ensuring the continuity of this artisanal expertise.

Between family tradition and innovation: a unique sensory experience

Maison Drouet offers distinctive cognacs and Pineau des Charentes, each cuvée named in a loving tribute to the family's elders or children. While tradition remains the cornerstone of the estate, innovation is expressed through the "Finish" range, offering contemporary profiles for those who appreciate discovery. All products are available for tasting and purchase directly at the property.

To extend the experience, the estate invites you to enjoy a convivial atmosphere : in July and August, after an educational tour of the cellars, you can ride through the vineyards on electric bikes and reserve a picnic amidst the vines. Savoring a traditional Charentais picnic basket in the fresh air, overlooking the rows of vines in the Grande Champagne region, offers an unforgettable bucolic interlude. The warm and welcoming atmosphere will make you feel right at home, immersed in the very essence of our terroir.
