    • MAISON FRANÇOIS PEYROT, COGNACS, PINEAUX AND LIQUEURS IN GRANDE CHAMPAGNE

Discover Maison François Peyrot, producer of Cognac, Pineau des Charentes and cognac liqueurs since 1956 in Grande Champagne, near Jarnac, in the heart of the Charente vineyards.

Since 1956, Maison François Peyrot has been producing Cognacs, Pineau des Charentes and Cognac liqueurs in the heart of Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac appellation. Located a few kilometers from Jarnac, the family estate covers 28 hectares of vineyards cultivated in a region renowned for the quality of its eaux-de-vie.

The history of the estate is rooted in an even older winemaking tradition. Several generations of winemakers succeeded one another before Jean and Mathilde Peyrot developed Cognac production in 1956. A few years later, François and Gisèle Peyrot created their own brand and marketed their first bottles under the name Cognac François Peyrot, now recognized far beyond the Charente region.

      What specifically distinguishes it

Maison François Peyrot controls every stage of production, from vine cultivation to the creation of its various spirits. This control allows them to preserve the character of the Grande Champagne terroir, renowned for producing eaux-de-vie intended for long aging.

The estate prioritizes sustainable viticulture to preserve the vineyard's natural balance. Grass cover between the rows of vines reduces the need for chemical treatments while promoting biodiversity. This approach reflects a commitment to producing Cognacs and Pineau des Charentes that truly embody the characteristics of the terroir.

The house also develops a range of cognac liqueurs, crafted using natural fruit flavors combined with Grande Champagne Cognac. Among the best-known is the Williams Pear Cognac Liqueur, which has won numerous awards, including a gold medal at the Saveurs Nouvelle-Aquitaine competition in 2024. Its production requires a significant quantity of Williams pears, resulting in an aromatic expression that is particularly true to the fruit.
