This historic monument takes you on a journey through time, dating back to the 12th century, when it was built under the reign of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Destroyed in the 15th century during the Hundred Years' War, it was subsequently rebuilt by Guillaume de La Rochefoucauld, before being closed for 20 years. Now open to the public, it can be visited during the summer season, as can its outdoor park at Aunac-sur-Charente.
