Lace up your boots and explore the Charente on the region's signposted footpaths. With 11,000 km of varied routes and itineraries, it's impossible to get bored in the Charente if you love hiking. 

Punctuated by GR (Grande Randonnée) and PR (Promenade et Randonnée) trails, you'll find plenty of opportunities to get away from it all in the countryside or forest. It is also crossed by one of the 4 Chemins de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, with the Via Turonensis for pilgrims walking along the Charente. 

Stroll along the banks of the river, escape to the heart of the vineyards or marvel at the magnificent blue lakes of the Charente - you'll find plenty of ideas to suit your mood and your energy.
