In Saint-Simon, you'll have a breathtaking view of the Charente; at the Aubeterre-sur-Dronne leisure park, you can take a dip after lunch; and at the Rejallant rest area, you'll find respite from the heat in the shade of the trees. Visiting Angoulême on foot

Angoulême, the capital of the Charente region, is a magnet for its comics scene, with art forms scattered throughout every street. Renowned for its Comics and Image Museum and the annual International Comics Festival, Angoulême is a must-see in the spring, when the days are mild and sunny. Once there, follow the ramparts to admire the city from above – a route suggested by the Tourist Office with a marked map.

Dust off your basket and stroll through the aisles of the Charente markets, a gourmet experience usually held in the morning. Artisans, producers, merchants, and winemakers gather to offer you local products, specialties to discover and, above all, to savor.
